EASA Part 147 requires minimum attendance for most basic training programmes. A student who doesn't meet the threshold cannot proceed to examination. AMTOS enforces this automatically.

Exam Security

Biometric Webcam Check-in & Invigilator Identity Verification

EASA Part-147 requires positive identity verification before a candidate is permitted to sit a theory examination. AMTOS enforces this at the point of exam entry using the student's own device camera — no specialist hardware required.

• Webcam consent & capture — the student receives a privacy notice, grants camera access, and snaps a real-time check-in selfie directly from the browser
• Automated face comparison — the selfie is compared against the student's registered profile photograph. Confidence scores are stored in the ExamSessionControl audit record
• ID Mismatch Warning — if the similarity score falls below the approval threshold, the invigilator sees an amber ⚠️ alert in the live Manage Attempts dashboard
• Invigilator side-by-side review modal — the invigilator can open a Candidate Identity Verification modal showing both images and either approve or escalate
• Controlled start gate — the student sees a "Waiting for Invigilator" holding screen and cannot begin the exam until the invigilator clicks Verify & Bypass
• Full audit trail — every bypass is recorded in ExamIncidentLogs with timestamp, approving user, and confidence score for regulatory traceability
• Production-ready hook — the face-comparison module is architected to plug in Azure Face API or AWS Rekognition for a fully automated AI comparison in live deployments

The controlled start gate means no student can begin an exam without explicit invigilator approval — even if the face comparison passes automatically.
